Visionpool Business Services is hiring a Network Support Analyst who provides for the day-to-day administration, management, and support of the site/plant LAN/WAN infrastructure. This opportunity is located onsite in Regina, SK.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate, maintain support the site/plant LAN/WAN infrastructure and associated LAN/WAN service objects, including LAN drops/access points for end-user devices such as desktops, printers, multifunction printers, plotters, scanners, wireless nodes, and mobile devices, according to defined service levels.
- Implement software patches, upgrades, or refreshes to hardware or software.
- Plan network changes with third-party vendors.
- Coordinate response and restoration to site LAN/WAN service requests and resolve performance issues.
- Monitor, log, and analyze key system metrics related to network availability, latency, utilization, and memory usage using TCP/IP tools and standards.
- Maintain network software levels at current vendor release versions.
- Provide internet access through local and multiple internet service providers, ensuring high availability.
- Configure switches and VLANs for internet connectivity.
- Follow ITIL disciplines for incident and problem management, processing service desk incidents within SLUs.
- Collaborate with support teams to resolve incidents.
- Respond to security incidents via firewall monitoring, IDS, or CIRT.
- Manage IMACs and asset installation, moves, adds, and changes for LAN/WAN services.
- Provision LAN access for special setups and create LAN extensions within the site/campus.
- Maintain a topology map of critical LAN/WAN equipment and circuits, managed through change control.
- Use asset management tools like SAP to track network assets and circuits.
- Ensure network security policies and standards are followed, including physical security and access controls.
- Implement network security practices, including firewall rules and intrusion detection.
- Respond to performance issues and manage third-party service agreements to meet SLAs.
- Report on network utilization, capacity, and performance trends, and develop asset refresh plans.
- Perform testing and commissioning of network changes and new projects.
- Plan and execute network recovery activities in collaboration with third-party vendors.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5 years of Network Analyst experience.
- Demonstrated Cisco experience.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCSP, TCAP, TCEP are preferred.
- Proven record of continuous improvement.
