Job description

Visionpool Business Services is hiring a Network Support Analyst who provides for the day-to-day administration, management, and support of the site/plant LAN/WAN infrastructure. This opportunity is located onsite in Regina, SK.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Operate, maintain support the site/plant LAN/WAN infrastructure and associated LAN/WAN service objects, including LAN drops/access points for end-user devices such as desktops, printers, multifunction printers, plotters, scanners, wireless nodes, and mobile devices, according to defined service levels.
  2. Implement software patches, upgrades, or refreshes to hardware or software.
  3. Plan network changes with third-party vendors.
  4. Coordinate response and restoration to site LAN/WAN service requests and resolve performance issues.
  5. Monitor, log, and analyze key system metrics related to network availability, latency, utilization, and memory usage using TCP/IP tools and standards.
  6. Maintain network software levels at current vendor release versions.
  7. Provide internet access through local and multiple internet service providers, ensuring high availability.
  8. Configure switches and VLANs for internet connectivity.
  9. Follow ITIL disciplines for incident and problem management, processing service desk incidents within SLUs.
  10. Collaborate with support teams to resolve incidents.
  11. Respond to security incidents via firewall monitoring, IDS, or CIRT.
  12. Manage IMACs and asset installation, moves, adds, and changes for LAN/WAN services.
  13. Provision LAN access for special setups and create LAN extensions within the site/campus.
  14. Maintain a topology map of critical LAN/WAN equipment and circuits, managed through change control.
  15. Use asset management tools like SAP to track network assets and circuits.
  16. Ensure network security policies and standards are followed, including physical security and access controls.
  17. Implement network security practices, including firewall rules and intrusion detection.
  18. Respond to performance issues and manage third-party service agreements to meet SLAs.
  19. Report on network utilization, capacity, and performance trends, and develop asset refresh plans.
  20. Perform testing and commissioning of network changes and new projects.
  21. Plan and execute network recovery activities in collaboration with third-party vendors.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 5 years of Network Analyst experience.
  • Demonstrated Cisco experience.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCSP, TCAP, TCEP are preferred.
  • Proven record of continuous improvement.
