Responsibilities
  • Install/Implement IT Infrastructure Solution Components.
  • Provide IT Infrastructure and Operating Support Services.
  • Assist in aligning business requirements with network architecture and design principles.
  • Assist in defining logical and physical components.
  • Assist with documentation of production network.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate and up-to-date hardware and software inventory.
  • Assist with communication of problems with appropriate follow-through on fault isolation progress, escalations, and root cause analysis documentation.
  • Maintain and support a fully functional network that meets or exceeds business and customer requirements.
  • Assist with the design of LAN and WAN communication systems, including hardware, software, authentication, access methods, and protocols.
  • Assist with the design and implementation of LAN-to-LAN, WAN-to-WAN, and WAN-to-LAN communications and connections.
  • Identify and resolve hardware and software issues related to LANs/WANs.
  • Use necessary tools and processes to identify and correct problems.
  • Ensure a stable environment for enterprise applications.
  • Participate in IT projects to upgrade telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Monitor technology component performance or application/database performance.
  • Anticipate and identify problems, submitting corrective projects to the Program Office.
  • Analyze, log, and categorize problems.
Job Skills Required
  • 3 to 5 years hands-on experience with PDS/Structured Cabling Systems.
  • 3 to 5 years with multiple vendor L2/L3 switching equipment.
  • 3 to 5 years with Alcatel-Lucent or Cisco routers.
  • Experience with large TCP/IP networks.
  • Knowledge of Ethernet and IP routing protocols.
  • Working knowledge of router technology, voice communications, and VoIP.
  • Understanding of network technology, operating systems, and applications.

Candidates should have a strong understanding of Ethernet, IP routing, and associated protocols in an enterprise environment, with analytical, troubleshooting, and customer service skills. Familiarity with protocols such as OSPF, RIPV2, VLANs, VOIP, and diagnostic tools is preferred.
