Job summary

Multimatic is seeking a Network Administrator to design, install, and support our LAN/WAN and Internet segments. You will maintain network hardware/software, monitor uptime, and implement security measures across our global infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of related experience, CCNA certification, and hands-on work with Cisco and Fortinet firewalls, VMware, and Microsoft AD. Travel ~15% to local Multimatic locations is expected.

Qualifications

  • Education: University Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or a closely related technical field.
  • Experience: 2-3 years in a related field.
  • Certification: Cisco CCNA.
  • Firewall proficiency: 3 years’ experience with Cisco & Fortinet Firewalls.
  • Auditing tools: FireMon experience.
  • Switching: 3 years with Cisco IOS Switching.
  • OT & IoT systems: 1 year’s experience.
  • Cloud networking: 1 year with Microsoft Azure.
  • Networking knowledge: Cisco and Fortinet WAN/LAN/Wi‑Fi/VPN technologies.
  • Infrastructure: VMware and Microsoft AD familiarity.
  • Telephony: PRI and VOIP knowledge.
  • Tools: experience with ticketing systems and network monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure uptime: develop, design, implement and maintain policies to ensure high uptime of our global network infrastructure.
  • Strategic recommendations: propose solutions on emerging network products, services, standards.
  • Global installation: install new network hardware and software globally.
  • Maintenance: ongoing configuration and maintenance of network services, equipment and devices.
  • Data integrity: help manage core network backup and restore protocols.
  • Performance tuning: monitor network performance and optimize accordingly.
  • Wireless management: manage Wi‑Fi infrastructure and software.
  • Reliability: ensure 24/7 uptime for WAN/LAN/Wi‑Fi.
  • Analysis: provide root-cause analysis for outages.
  • Task management: handle daily tickets and long‑term projects.

Job description

Multimatic is a privately held global enterprise supplying engineered components, systems and services to the automotive industry. The company’s core competencies include the development and manufacture of complex mechanisms and body hardware, suspension systems and body structural components as well as the design, engineering and development of light weight composite automotive systems.

Network Administrator position is responsible for designing, installing and supporting the organization’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), network segments or Internet segments. Key responsibilities include maintaining network hardware and software, analyzing problems, and monitoring networks to ensure availability to system users. The Network Administrator will plan, coordinate and implement network security measures, including firewalls and other secure technologies. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a highly dynamic environment, either individually or as part of a team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Infrastructure Uptime: Help develop, design, implement and maintain policies and procedures, focusing on providing 100% uptime of our global network infrastructure.
  • Strategic Recommendations: Recommend and provide solutions and recommendations on emerging network products, services, solutions and standards.
  • Global Installation: Install or help install new network hardware and software on a global level.
  • Maintenance: Ongoing configuration and maintenance of network services, equipment and devices.
  • Data Integrity: Help manage the core network system backup and restore protocols.
  • Performance Tuning: Monitor network performance and suggest/implement performance tuning.
  • Wireless Management: Manage Wi-Fi infrastructure and software.
  • Reliability: Ensure the 24/7 network uptime for all WAN/LAN levels.
  • Analysis: Provide root-cause analysis for all network related outage events that impact uptime.
  • Task Management: Dealing with daily support tickets as well as long-term projects.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Education: University Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or a closely related technical field.
  • Experience: 2-3 years in a related field.
  • Certifications: Cisco CCNA certification.
  • Firewall Proficiency: Minimum 3 years’ working experience with Cisco & Fortinet Firewalls.
  • Auditing Tools: Experience performing firewall auditing and compliance monitoring using FireMon.
  • Switching: Minimum 3 years working experience with Cisco IOS Switching.
  • OT & IoT Systems: Minimum 1 year’s working experience
  • Cloud Networking: Minimum 1 year experience configuring and supporting Microsoft Azure Cloud networking.
  • Networking Knowledge: Expert knowledge of Cisco and Fortinet WAN/LAN/WI-FI/VPN technology.
  • Infrastructure: Working knowledge of VMware environment & Microsoft AD.
  • Telephony: Knowledge of telephony technologies, specifically PRI and VOIP.
  • Tools: Experience in ticketing system usage and network monitoring tools.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Location: Onsite.
Travel: Office environment; 15% travel required to local Multimatic office/production locations.
