Job description

Our client seeks a hands‑on Network Engineer to support a 24x7 multi‑vendor environment and drive network reliability and resiliency. You will operate LAN/WAN, wireless, and firewalls, resolve incidents end‑to‑end, and implement routing, switching, and redundancy patterns. You will collaborate across teams to isolate true network issues, strengthen monitoring and security controls, and improve documentation and operational processes. The environment includes Arista switching, Juniper Mist wireless, Palo Alto firewalls, BGP‑based internet redundancy, and fiber/ethernet cabling.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and support LAN/WAN, wireless, and firewall infrastructure in a high‑availability environment.
  • Troubleshoot network incidents end‑to‑end including triage, root cause isolation, service restoration, and documentation.
  • Configure and maintain routing, switching, VLANs, and connectivity including redundancy and failover patterns.
  • Partner with internal teams to differentiate network issues from application, database, or system issues.
  • Support change management processes, runbooks, and documentation best practices.
  • Assist with improvements to resiliency, monitoring, and security controls.
  • Install, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot converged data/voice/video/gaming network systems and structured cabling solutions.
  • Monitor and maintain IT equipment and environmental conditions in telecommunication spaces.
  • Create documentation for network topology, application dependencies, systems design, and SOPs.
  • Act as an internal consultant translating business needs into technical solutions and communicate to varied stakeholders.
  • Ensure stable and reliable connectivity across access, distribution, and core network devices.
  • Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability of network systems aligned to security programs and policies.
  • Implement new installations and moves for network access locations, coordinating cabling and WAN circuits.
  • Define and operationalize SOPs, runbooks, and technical documentation.
  • Train and mentor Help Desk and junior engineers on network components and common issues.
  • Follow change management and ensure proper approvals and documentation for configuration changes.
  • Monitor network performance and report on assigned metrics.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and vendors and remediate audit findings within agreed timelines.
Experience Requirements
  • Strong networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and structured troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting enterprise LAN/WAN and wireless networks.
  • Firewall and network security fundamentals including policy, segmentation, and incident response awareness.
  • Experience working in incident‑driven environments and supporting escalations.
  • Ability to work onsite 3–4 days per week.
  • Strong communication skills with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with Arista, Juniper Mist, or Palo Alto (preferred).
  • Good Cisco experience (preferred).
  • BGP configuration and troubleshooting experience (preferred).
  • Hospitality or gaming industry experience (preferred).
  • Documentation discipline including runbooks, diagrams, and SOPs (preferred).
