REALIGN LLC, based in Montreal, QC, seeks an experienced Network Admin / Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and manage security across on‑prem and cloud networks. You will handle firewalling, VPNs, cloud networking, and infrastructure support, with senior-level responsibility and collaboration across teams and vendors.

Responsibilities include L3 incident management, monitoring, runbooks, and knowledge transfer. Hybrid work model with in-office presence in Montreal is required.

Qualifications

  • Senior-level network security administration experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and coordinate network security designs and technical documentation with external vendors and internal technology teams.
  • Lead onboarding, deployment, and integration of Secure IoT firewalls into enterprise systems and processes.
  • Provide operational support for network security solutions including GCP firewalls, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and other third-party technologies.
  • Provide L3 support, incident management, troubleshooting, and resolution of advanced network security issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve complex incidents.
  • Implement monitoring to ensure infrastructure health, availability, and resiliency.
  • Participate in operational on-call support when required.
  • Create and maintain runbooks, documentation, and support procedures.
  • Assist with knowledge transfer and training for global technology teams.
  • Support change management and incident response activities.
  • Interact with business users and provide professional technical support.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Network Admin / Network Security Engineer with strong expertise in network security, firewall administration, cloud networking, and network infrastructure support. The ideal candidate will have senior-level network security administration experience and a strong understanding of firewalls, VPNs, routing, switching, cloud environments, and security operations.


The candidate will be responsible for supporting and integrating network security solutions, troubleshooting complex L3 issues, implementing infrastructure monitoring, and collaborating with internal technology teams, senior management, and external vendors.



Key Responsibilities


  • Communicate and coordinate network security designs and technical documentation with external vendors and internal technology teams.

  • Lead the onboarding, deployment, and integration of Secure IoT firewalls into enterprise systems and operational processes.

  • Provide operational support for network security solutions, including GCP cloud-native firewalls, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and other third-party technologies.

  • Provide L3 support, incident management, troubleshooting, and resolution of advanced network security issues.

  • Collaborate with internal technology teams and external vendors to resolve complex incidents.

  • Implement monitoring solutions to ensure infrastructure health, availability, and resiliency.

  • Participate in operational on-call support when required.

Required Technical Skills


  • Strong knowledge of network security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, and NAT.

  • Knowledge of packet filtering and stateful packet inspection.

  • Strong understanding of cloud networking and cloud security environments.

  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals including routing, switching, VLANs, and network protocols.

  • Experience with host security technologies such as iptables and host-based firewalls.

  • Scripting experience using Python, Shell, Ansible, or similar tools.

  • Experience with network automation, GitHub, data pipelines, or third-party vendor API integrations.

  • Understanding of change management and incident response processes.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.



Desired Skills


  • Hands-on experience with firewall platforms such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, or Juniper.

  • Understanding of routing protocols including BGP and static routing.

  • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including the OSI model, TCP/IP stack, and network design.

  • Experience providing customer support and interacting directly with business users.

  • Experience in financial services or other enterprise environments is highly desirable.



Qualifications


  • Senior-level experience in network security administration.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent technical discipline.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical issues.

  • Ability to work effectively in engineering and operational support teams.

  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to remain professional in high-pressure environments.



Work Model

This is a Hybrid position based in Montreal, QC. The role requires working from the office at least 3 days per week. Long-term work-from-home is not an option.
