Job summary

Fairbanks Morse Defense Handling in Peterborough, Ontario, invites an Electrical Engineer to join our team and shape electrical subsystems for critical naval handling equipment. You will translate requirements into robust designs, work with cross-functional teams, and ensure tests verify performance under demanding conditions.

Ideal candidates hold a P.Eng. license, 5+ years in electrical systems, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and P.Eng. license (PEO) required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical field.
• Strong English communication, both written and verbal.
• Experience with industrial control systems and CAD advantageous; ability to obtain NATO clearance.

Responsibilities

• Translate high level requirements into electrical design specifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define functional performance of components.
• Design and implement electrical designs meeting testability and reliability criteria.
• Develop and review electrical test plans to verify requirements are met.
• Support system-level testing at facility and in the field.
• Coordinate with operations, supply chain and quality to address technical deficiencies.
