Fairbanks Morse Defense, located in Peterborough, Ontario, is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to build and test advanced naval handling systems. You’ll join a team dedicated to precision craftsmanship, reading engineering drawings, and delivering equipment that meets strict military standards.

Qualifications

• Trade/technical education or equivalent experience required.
• Licensed Millwright or equivalent mechanical experience.
• Experience reading mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Assembles, integrates, tests, and troubleshoots complex mechanical systems.
• Works with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Ensures assemblies meet highest military standards.
• Assembles parts to tolerances on engineering drawings.
• Sets up and integrates systems prior to testing.
• Operates overhead cranes and lift trucks.
• Assists engineering with electrical and mechanical testing.
• Interfaces with customers during equipment testing.
