A leading company in shipbuilding is seeking an Engineer/Technologist to provide oversight and support in the design and construction of naval vessels for the Royal Canadian Navy and Canadian Coast Guard. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in engineering or technology, with relevant experience in ship design and strong technical skills, especially in navigating production drawings and using AutoCAD. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with multiple stakeholders on impactful projects.
As an Engineer/Technologist, Shipbuilding, you will provide technical oversight and support throughout the design, construction, testing / commissioning, and delivery of multiple classes of Royal Canadian Navy and Canadian Coast Guard vessels. This oversight and support will be provided through the application of practical job knowledge that is typically obtained through advanced education and work experience in the field of ship design and construction.
QualificationsThe Engineer/Technologist reviews subcontractor calculations, models, reports, and technical specifications to ensure that structural requirements from the customer, Classification Society, and shipyard have been achieved in the design. They will also be responsible for developing solutions to resolve technical issued encountered during construction.
