Qualifications

Job description

Would you like to launch your career with one of the most successful logistics organizations worldwide? Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our Toronto site is looking for a new National Road Logistics Controller to join our Finance team.

Your Role
As our National Controller supporting our Road and Customs Logistics Business Unit, you will act as the business partner to provide financial expertise, strategic development support and collaboration and robust risk assessment, to drive and challenge sustainable, profitable growth whilst ensuring financial health. To show your financial and business expertise, you will ensure financial transactional accuracy, remain ICS compliant, provide accurate forecasting, and pro actively improve BU processes and efficiencies for our Road and Customs Logistics Business Unit.
Your Responsibilities
  • Working as the Financial Business Partner to provide strategic development and support to the road and customs business units to ensure financial integrity, profitable growth and strong KPI health
  • Analyze customer and product profitability and monitor with a view to mitigate loss making departments and customers
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to drive and enhance business/product growth
  • Analyze financial reports and KPIs and ensure improvement actions taken
  • Produce accurate forecast / target in conjunction with the business unit operations
  • Identify risks and sensitivities provide guidance and recommendations
  • Drive continuous improvement of financial reporting regarding data quality, completeness and relevancy
  • Independently process month end closing to ensure accurate revenue, GP and cost recognition, with minimal losses
  • Control, monitor and adhere to ICS (internal audit controls) and corporate policies and guidelines

Your Skills and Experiences
  • Diploma/Degree in Business or Finance Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7-10 years experience in a financialControlling position or senior FP&A role
  • Experience in logistics, freight forwarding environments strongly beneficial, particularly in Road Logistics and Customs
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma beneficial
  • CMA or CPA designation strongly preferred
  • Demonstrable experience incost savings, simplify and improve processes, implement efficiency gains and measure and report on key indicators
  • Have independently built business plans, defining gaps and opportunities and assess all risks involved and make decisions
  • Flexibility to travel as required to support the Canada National operations
