Summary

The Cartage Coordinator will play a crucial role in monitoring new orders from our customs brokerage division and clients, ensuring that pickups are scheduled timely. This position requires a proactive approach to cargo availability, customs and freight releases, and delivery coordination. The ideal candidate will be adept at negotiating rates, quoting clients with a high success rate, and maintaining strong relationships with carriers and clients alike.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Monitor new orders from the customs brokerage division and clients to ensure timely pickups.
  2. Regularly check terminals and warehouse websites for cargo availability of import containers (FCL), LCL and air shipments.
  3. Ensure timely customs clearance and freight releases.
  4. Coordinate the delivery of import containers (FCL), LCL and air shipments upon cargo availability.
  5. Negotiate competitive rates with carriers.
  6. Quote clients accurately and maintain a high win rate.
  7. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with carriers.
  8. Track and trace ocean and air shipments daily, ensuring all parties are informed of status changes.
  9. Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining positive client relations.
  10. Verify the accuracy of vendors' invoices and ensure timely billing to clients.

Requirements

  1. Minimum 3 years of proven experience in logistics coordination, particularly with import containers (FCL), LCL and air shipments.
  2. Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  3. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
  4. Knowledge of customs brokerage process and freight forwarding.
  5. Ability to provide outstanding customer service.
  6. Proficiency in tracking and tracing shipments.
  7. Problem-solving, accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical ability.
