Overview

You will join a small, highly collaborative engineering-side team (not a traditional business BA environment). The role blends business analysis, functional Murex expertise, data understanding, and the ability to guide technical teams through product changes. This is not a numbers-heavy or-only role-you'll be expected to dig into data, understand products, and help translate business needs into technical execution.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the functional expert for Murex across the team; support ongoing initiatives related to new products and enhancements.
  • Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications for engineering teams.
  • Analyze Murex data outputs using SQL to understand issues, reconcile mismatches, and validate end-to-end flows.
  • Guide the team through functional changes that have technical impacts; participate in whiteboarding and in-person solutioning sessions.
  • Work closely with product leads, the technology team, and business partners to support new asset classes, trade types, or events (e.g., share re-rates, lending scenarios).
  • Use Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow for backlog management, documentation, and incident tracking.
  • Leverage modern tools-including AI-to accelerate analysis, documentation, and solution creation.
  • Support knowledge sharing and help level up newer team members.
  • Contribute to an Agile Scrum environment and participate in sprint ceremonies.
Must-Have Qualifications
  • 5+ years as a Business Analyst in financial markets or capital markets technology.
  • Strong SQL experience (5+ years) - able to independently pull and analyze data, review existing reports, and troubleshoot data issues (no DBA-level tuning required).
  • Murex functional knowledge - understanding of how trades, products, and events flow through Murex.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum, with hands-on use of Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
  • Ability to bridge the gap between business and technology-this team sits fully on the engineering side.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills for in-person team sessions.
  • Comfort operating in a hybrid environment (4 days in office; Tue/Thu are core collaboration days).
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, teaching, and continuous improvement.
  • Interest in or familiarity with modern AI tools to accelerate productivity.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Linux/bash
  • Python or Java
  • Experience working in both product and BA capacities
  • Background in capital markets, trade lifecycle, or risk systems beyond Murex
