Job summary

The City of Belleville is looking for a Revenue/Customer Service Representative to join the Finance Department on a permanent full‑time basis. Location is City Hall, 169 Front Street, with hours Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm, in a CUPE union setting.

You will process revenues, respond to inquiries, and provide excellent service at the counter, by phone and email. Qualifications include a two‑year accounting college diploma, ability to handle cash, and strong computer skills.

Qualifications

• Two years accounting college diploma required.
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (“CRC”) prior to commencing work at the City of Belleville.

Responsibilities

• Process and reconcile all City revenues including taxes, parking, and accounts receivable, over the counter payments and by electronic transfers.
• Provide timely, accurate information to the Coordinator and respond to direction and decisions.
• Provide customer service at the counter, by telephone and email, and assist with applications and forms.
• Perform day and month-end balancing in accordance with the City’s procedures and controls.
• Maintain sale spreadsheets for revenue streams (e.g. transit passes, parking, dog tags, etc.).
• Provide verification of Senior Rebate/ODSP program applications for processing and reconciliation.
• Assist with setup and maintenance of land severance files, cheque vouchers and duplicate tax receipts.
• Support the Property Tax Co-ordinator as needed and prepare tax certifications.
• Assist with development of SOPs and implementation of new technology.
• Communicate professionally with staff, vendors and agencies to promote accessible customer service.
