Job summary

The City of Maple Ridge seeks an Engineering Technologist to review subdivision, rezoning and building permit applications for compliance with bylaws and engineering standards. You will assess site grading, servicing and infrastructure impacts and provide guidance to staff, developers and the public.

Responsibilities include field inspections, preparing reports, and contributing to policy updates and infrastructure planning initiatives.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering Technology or related field.
• Considerable municipal experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret bylaws and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Review designs for municipal infrastructure to ensure compliance with bylaws and standards.
• Assess subdivision, rezoning, development and building permit applications for impacts on infrastructure.
• Conduct field inspections to verify compliance and identify deficiencies.
• Provide technical guidance to internal departments, developers, contractors and the public.
• Prepare records, reports and documentation related to development applications and inspections.
