Job summary

CareerBeacon in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, is seeking a Maintenance Person to perform carpentry, plumbing, heating, electrical, painting and drywall tasks across properties in the Western District. The role requires physical stamina, tool proficiency and the ability to follow safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Must have Grade 12 or equivalent and 5 years in building and property maintenance.
• Ability to operate electrical and mechanical tools.
• Able to perform physical tasks with good body mechanics and basic knowledge of NB and OH&S Act.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative maintenance and repairs on assigned buildings and equipment.
• Maintain properties including walks, driveways, parking areas, drainage and curbs.
• Prepare work orders, reports, logs and inventory records.
• Repair vacant units to rent-ready condition.
• Operate vehicles and power tools used in the trade.
• Respond to after-hours maintenance calls as part of standby duty.
