Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Sr. IT Administrator (5+ years as an IT Administrator or IT Consultant) to join our MSP Solutions Team. The role involves designing, deploying, and maintaining client servers, computer systems, and network infrastructure. A broad knowledge of computer software, internet applications, networks, and operating systems is essential. Hands-on experience with Citrix XenDesktop administration is highly beneficial to support our growing number of Citrix clients.

Our goal is to build and maintain efficient computer networks to optimize the role of IT within our clients’ businesses. You will work alongside account managers, business solutions technicians, and field technicians to support diverse client environments ranging from 5 to 500 users. As a Citrix XenDesktop specialist, you will provide guidance to other team members on proposing and implementing Citrix solutions.

Responsibilities:
  1. Monitor client networks, servers, workstations, and network infrastructure.
  2. Proactively maintain servers, computers, and peripheral devices, including printers and scanners.
  3. Manage, troubleshoot, and configure switches, access points, routers, firewalls, and other network devices.
  4. Install and configure software following industry best practices.
  5. Develop and maintain networks to optimize performance.
  6. Ensure security and privacy of networks and systems.
  7. Guide users on operating new software and equipment.
  8. Schedule and organize upgrades and maintenance.
  9. Diagnose and resolve technical problems.
  10. Maintain records of maintenance and repairs.
  11. Identify equipment for replacement, upgrade, or decommissioning.
  12. Maintain managed services infrastructure and monitoring tools.
  13. Provide reports and recommendations to improve clients' IT environments.
Requirements:
  • Experience in designing, installing, and configuring Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp solutions.
  • Hands-on knowledge of virtualization technologies like VMware and/or Citrix XenServer.
  • Experience in designing, configuring, and deploying Active Directory Domains, Policies, and trust relationships.
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange solutions deployment and migration.
  • Excellent diagnostic, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Deep understanding of computer systems and networks.
  • Knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., Citrix, Cisco, VMware, Microsoft) are advantageous.
  • Experience with telephony technologies is a plus.
Job Details:

Type: Full-time

Location: Primarily serving Managed Services Customers in the Greater Toronto, Hamilton, Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge areas. The head office is in Hamilton, Ontario. Regular travel to these areas and flexible hours for off-hour maintenance are required.
