Position Overview

Title: Mobile Security Guard

Pay Rate: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour

Schedule: Overnight shifts

Site Overview

Our mobile patrol team covers a variety of commercial and community properties throughout Duncan, Crofton, Chemainus, and Cowichan Bay on Vancouver Island. You will serve as a visible, reassuring presence across multiple property locations, conducting mobile inspections and on-foot property checks to maintain order and security.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Conduct regular mobile patrols and detailed foot patrols to ensure the safety of personnel, facilities, and property.
• Monitor property for safety hazards, security breaches, or maintenance irregularities, contacting emergency services when necessary.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and assist community members, visitors, and site staff.
• Write clear, accurate daily activity logs, incident reports, and emergency reports.
• Provide initial medical response and first aid support when emergency situations occur.
• Apply non-violent de-escalation techniques, control crowds, and address trespassers calmly and professionally.
• Communicate efficiently using two-way radios and required computer applications.

Must Haves

• Valid British Columbia Security Worker License.
• Valid Class 5 or Class 7N Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Eligibility to work legally in Canada.
• Ability to meet physical demands, including walking for extended periods during patrols.
• Availability and commitment to work overnight shifts.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle stressful situations with composure.

Nice-to-Haves

• Valid Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 1 certification or higher.
• Prior knowledge or training in non-violent crisis intervention and de-escalation methods.
