BBA, a leading Canadian private engineering firm, seeks a Mining Studies Manager to lead multidisciplinary studies from preliminary economic assessments to feasibility studies, applying strong financial modelling. You will collaborate with regional partners, train the next generation, and manage a passionate team while serving as an overall qualified person.

Qualifications

  • Over 15 years of experience in the mining industry.
  • Registered professional engineer, technician or geologist and ability to serve as an overall qualified person.
  • Extensive experience in developing, delivering and operating mining or mineral processing studies and projects.
  • Experience as study manager, area manager, engineering manager or lead engineer on multiple projects or studies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the execution of multiple, concurrent studies and projects to meet objectives and KPIs.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the Studies team's development.
  • Support growth of the Mining and Metals team in Western Canada by pursuing business development opportunities.
  • Lead studies with national and international teams based on your skillset.

As a Mining Studies Manager, you'll have experiencemanaging compliant, multidisciplinary studies, from preliminary economicassessments to feasibility studies, with strong financial modelling experienceand the ability to serve as an overall qualified person. You'll use yourleadership skills every day, whether it's to develop trusting relationshipswith our partners in the region, train the next generation or manage apassionate team. This role requires you to take the lead, while also being inthe thick of the action as you work closely with talented people.

Summary of certifications and jobrequirements
  • Over 15 years of experience in the mining industry
  • Registered professional engineer, technician or geologist and ability to serve as an overall qualified person
  • Extensive experience in developing, delivering and operating mining or mineral processing studies and projects
  • Previously worked on a client/owner's team or been a study manager, area manager, engineering manager or lead engineer on several projects or studies
  • Strong understanding of NI 43-10, JORC and SK-1300 reporting codes and technical reports
  • Excellent English technical writing and communication (both spoken and written)
  • Asset: technical skills in resource estimation, mine design, process development and/or financial modelling
