Job summary

BBA is seeking a Mining Engineer to join our Mining and Geology team in Canada. You will deliver practical mining solutions across sustaining and growth projects, collaborating with multiple disciplines and clients.

The role requires a minimum of five years' experience in mining, strong communication skills, and the ability to travel domestically and internationally. You will work on scoping through NI 43-101 reports and contribute to financial models.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Mining or Geological Engineering from a recognized University.
  • Experience working at a mining operation, engineering and/or project evaluation.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience relevant to the position.
  • Member of PEO or eligible to become a member of a professional association for engineers.
  • High level of proficiency with open pit mining design and planning software packages (Deswik/MineSight preferred).
  • Experience in mine equipment selection, capital cost and operating cost estimates.
  • Knowledge in budgeting, scheduling and financial modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mining engineering and design services for open pit and underground mine studies (scoping, prefeasibility, feasibility, detailed design, and NI 43-101 technical reports).
  • Mine planning and production scheduling; equipment fleet calculations; mineral reserves evaluations; contribute to financial models; write and contribute to study reports.
  • Collaborate with geology, rock mechanics, drill/blast and infrastructure teams; liaise with clients and present results.
  • Manage the mining component of large projects; ensure quality service to clientele and uphold BBA's professional image.

Summary of certifications and jobrequirements

  • Fluent in the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with colleagues and clients in a professional and technical manner
  • A willingness to travel both domestically and internationally, for varying durations and at times to remote locations
  • Asset: Function in a second language (French or Spanish)
