BBA Consultants, a leading Canadian mining and resources engineering firm, seeks a Lead Mineral Processing Engineer to drive projects from prefeasibility through commissioning. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, perform high‑tech process simulations, and determine equipment, tools and methods needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mineral processing, metallurgy or chemical engineering.
• Professional engineer registration.
• 10+ years in mineral processing or related design/operations.
• Experience with NI 43-101 is a strong asset.
• Strong communication and business development capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-discipline teams to deliver cost-effective, safe, and timely projects.
• Review and approve process plant material balances, PFDs, P&IDs, layouts and specs.
• Prepare operating cost evaluations and client presentations.
• Support business development and proposals.
• Mentor younger engineers and share knowledge.

Our Mining and Geology team is seeking a Lead Mineral Processing Engineer to contribute to every mining project phase, from prefeasibility studies to commissioning. Members of our multidisciplinary team pool their expertise, carry out high-tech process simulations and determine the equipment, tools and processes needed. An Overview Of Your Mandates And Responsibilities

• Work respectfully and collaboratively with a team of skilled engineers, designers and project support staff
• Lead and manage a variety of cross-discipline teams to ensure cost effective, safe and timely completion of projects that meet or exceed client expectations
• Lead, review and approve process plant material balance, process design criteria, PFDs, P&IDs, plant layouts, technical specifications and technical evaluations
• Prepare operating cost evaluations
• Liaise with clients on a technical level and present reports, trade-off studies, publications and presentations in a professional manner
• Create and review proposals
• Train and share experiences with younger engineers
• Participate in business development and corporate growth

Summary Of Certifications And Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mineral processing, metallurgy or chemical engineering
• Registered as a professional engineer
• Over ten years of experience in mineral processing such as gold, copper, coal, green energy materials (lithium, graphite, etc.) or base metal operations and/or design
• General areas of expertise include metallurgical test work planning and analysis, crushing, grinding, flotation, hydrometallurgy, water treatment, gravity separation, pressure oxidation, heap leaching, CIL/CIP and electrowinning/refining
• Strong track record of successfully completed projects in the mining industry
• Available for occasional travel to domestic and international destinations
• Enthusiasm and capacity for business development and corporate growth
• Experience with Microsoft Office and process simulation software
• Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written
• Significant asset: feasibility study and NI 43-101 experience
• Asset: excellent communication skills in French, both spoken and written
• Asset: interested in process control and optimization
• Asset: operations and/or consulting experience
• Asset: demonstrated ability to find innovative solutions to complex metallurgical problems
