Job summary

Toromont Cat is seeking a Site Performance Manager to partner with mine sites across Eastern Canada. You will understand the customer’s end-to-end operations and act as a trusted advisor on machine, parts, and site performance, driving continuous improvement with Toromont and Caterpillar.

You will collaborate with internal teams to implement solutions, maintain strong customer relationships, and contribute to our safety-first culture while leveraging Cat products and services to optimize site

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of Cat products and mining equipment management is required.
• Ability to build inclusive relationships between customers, Toromont and Caterpillar.
• Strong communication skills and knowing how to address stakeholders at the right level.
• Good human relations skills to foster collaboration within the team.
• Ability to self-prioritize work without day-to-day supervision.

Responsibilities

• Interact with mine site operations in daily activities.
• Observe and advise on machine application, maintenance, safety, and dealer relationships to identify improvement opportunities.
• Use technical and soft skills to identify and prioritize drivers of improvement.
• Develop improvement plans that detail execution, management, and sustainment of changes.
• Communicate requirements and coordinate with Toromont resources as needed.

A Site Performance Manager (SPM) assists the customer and becomes a valued partner. In a typical day, YOU will:

• Interact in various areas of the mine site’s daily operations
• Observe and Advise on Machine Application, Maintenance & Repair, Safety, and customer-dealer relationship utilizing technical and soft skills to identify, prioritize, and coordinate improvement opportunities.
• Must utilize the various technical skills available to them to ensure the key drivers for improvement opportunities are identified and prioritized.
• Help develop improvement plans, which go beyond identifying the opportunity, yet are also inclusive of the range of details required to execute, manage and sustain changes
• Communicate the requirements, gain buy in, and understand when and where additional resources need to be employed from the available areas within Toromont

Must-haves for this role:

• Thorough knowledge of Cat products and product applications, mining equipment management, product problem management, and technical product expertise are required
• Ability to build inclusive relationships between customers, Toromont and with Caterpillar
• Strong communication skills and the understanding and knowledge to communicate to the right people and stakeholders at the right level when needed
• Good human relations skills are required to develop and foster a collaborative/cooperative work relationship
• Must also work and set priorities for themselves and for the work team without day-to-day direct supervision
