Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited is seeking a Mechanic Helper for our Detour Lake Mine to assist in maintaining and repairing mobile mining equipment. You will support technicians in shop and field tasks while promoting safety and efficiency.

The role requires a Grade 12 diploma or GED, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently or in a team. A 14/14 schedule applies with on-site accommodations, meals, and company-provided transportation.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Diploma or GED.
• Previous education or experience in Heavy Duty Techniques program preferred.
• Mechanically inclined with willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Basic computer experience is an asset.
• Physically fit to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Commitment to safety, health and environmental best practices.
• Experience in cross-cultural teams is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist technicians with shop and field tasks.
• Maintain instruments, tools and work areas.
• Handle various instruments and assist in shop equipment.
• Assist in mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on mining equipment.
• Clean and organize maintenance equipment and workplaces.
• Monitor and maintain inventory and supplies.
