Job summary

Wajax is seeking a skilled Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician to service and rebuild large mining components, with emphasis on Hitachi EX1200–EX8000 shovels and haul truck systems. You will inspect, diagnose, disassemble, recondition, and test equipment to OEM standards, supporting field and shop work.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in mining environments, strong reading of schematics, and proven troubleshooting abilities.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician with provincial certification.
• Minimum 2–3 years' experience, preferably in mining or component rebuild.
• Ability to read and interpret OEM manuals, schematics, and specs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and evaluate mining components to determine servicing or rebuild needs.
• Perform major component rebuilds for Hitachi mining shovels and haul truck components.
• Disassemble, analyze failures, recondition, assemble, and test per OEM specs.
• Maintain documentation, communicate with customers and site personnel.
• Adhere to health and safety policies and promote safe work practices.
