Job summary

Coeur Silvertip Mine in Northern British Columbia is seeking an Underground Miner 1 to contribute to our mine operations. This role involves face preparation, jumbo operation, and supporting the mining cycle on a two-week on/ two-week off schedule at a remote camp.

Candidates should have five years' underground cut/fill experience, ability to read mine plans, valid BC Underground Blasting Ticket and multiple licenses, and be physically fit.

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience in underground cut/fill operations.
• Ability to read, interpret and follow mine plan documentation.
• Ability to operate Electric Hydraulic Jumbo and LHD equipment.
• Valid BC Underground Blasting Ticket.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience in operating the equipment required for the position.
• Mining industry experience desired.
• Valid Class 3 driver’s license with air endorsement.
• Physically fit to perform the duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Face preparation and mark-up following established procedures.
• Operate Electric Hydraulic Jumbo maintaining lines and grades.
• Assist with all other activities involved in the mining cycle.
• Assist with maintenance repairs as required.
• Perform pre-operational checks, and operate equipment according to Safe Operating Procedures.
• Monitor equipment and processes and report deficiencies and operational issues clearly.
• Conduct trouble shooting activities when problems arise.
• Complete Operator Report Sheets and Daily Logbooks.

About The Job

Operating in a Northern British Columbia mining environment on a two week in/two week out shift rotation, the Miner 1 is an integral part of the mine operations at the Silvertip Mine. Solid work ethics, regular attendance, and punctuality are essential requirements for this position.

Responsibilities

• Face preparation and mark-up following established procedures;
• Operation of Electric Hydraulic Jumbo maintaining lines and grades;
• Assist with all other activities involved in the mining cycle;
• Assist with maintenance repairs as required;
• Perform pre-operational checks, and operate equipment according to Safe Operating Procedures;
• Monitor equipment and processes and ensure equipment deficiencies and operational issues are reported clearly;
• Conduct trouble shooting activities when problems arise;
• Complete Operator Report Sheets and Daily Logbooks.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Five {5} years’ experience in underground cut/fill operations;
• Ability to read, interpret and follow mine plan documentation;
• Ability to operate Electric Hydraulic Jumbo and LHD equipment;
• Valid BC Underground Blasting Ticket;
• Valid driver's license;
• Experience in operating the varied equipment required for the position;
• Mining industry experience desired;
• Valid Class 3 driver's license with air endorsement;
• Physically fit to perform the duties of the position.

Additional Information

• Willing to work a two-week rotation schedule, with 12-hour shifts per day at a remote camp.
• Eligible for Monthly Bonus.
• Our current designated marshalling locations are Vancouver, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Calgary, Edmonton, Whitehorse, Teslin, and Watson Lake.
