Job summary

Coeur Silvertip mine in British Columbia is seeking an Electrician to join a camp-based team on a two-week in/two-week out rotation. The role involves interpreting drawings, wiring, testing and maintaining electrical systems in a remote mining camp.

Candidates must hold a Red Seal or Interprovincial Journeyman's Certificate, with experience on 4160/600V systems and fiber optics. The position offers a challenging environment, safety-focused culture and a rotating schedule with a monthly bonus.

Qualifications

  • Valid Red Seal or Interprovincial Journeyman's Certificate as an Electrician.
  • Extensive experience with 4160 & 600 volt systems.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Fiber Optic systems.
  • Experience with PLC design and programming an asset.
  • Mining industry experience desired; camp experience a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and physical fitness for camp duties.
  • Ability to work with a diverse cross-cultural workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
  • Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
  • Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors.
  • Respond to critical callouts as needed.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.
  • May install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.
  • Perform pre-operational checks, and operate equipment according to Safe Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor equipment and processes and ensure equipment deficiencies and operational issues are reported clearly.
  • Conduct trouble shooting activities when problems arise.
  • Complete Report Sheets and Daily Logbooks.

About The Job

The Coeur Silvertip mine located in British Columbia, just 10 miles south of the Yukon border is seeking an Electrician to work in a camp-based environment rotating on a two week in/two week out shift rotation.

Additional Information
  • Willing to work a two-week rotation schedule, with 12-hour shifts per day at a remote camp.
  • Eligible for Monthly Bonus.
  • Our current designated marshalling locations are Vancouver, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Calgary, Edmonton, Whitehorse, Teslin, and Watson Lake.
