YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Mine Planning Superintendent, you will be part of the Engineering Department. Your responsibilities include coordinating and optimizing safe mining operations, supporting production, pit maintenance, and technical services while adhering to our values, safety standards, and environmental commitments.

  • Develop and execute strategic weekly mine plans and designs
  • Collaborate with mine planning engineers on monthly plans, forecasts, and budgets
  • Support the mine operations team to ensure successful short-term plan execution
  • Ensure mining plans align with data from geology, survey, maintenance, geotechnical, safety, and environmental departments
  • Provide blending plans for plant production forecasts
  • Define stockpile strategies in coordination with relevant departments
  • Support initiatives to increase efficiency, maximize economic returns, and reduce costs
  • Visit project and operation areas to ensure plans are properly implemented and manage changes
  • Follow and improve procedures related to safety, costs, production, maintenance, and budgeting

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Mine Technician Diploma or equivalent from a recognized institution
  • At least 3 years of experience in technical services at an open pit mine
  • Experience in drill & blast design
  • Experience with Hexagon MineSite and Maptek Vulcan (asset)
  • Experience with Fleet Management Systems (Wenco) and analytical tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Schedule: 7/7 or 14/14 at Detour Lake Mine
