Job description

MOBIA is currently recruiting a Design Technician to join our team fully remote .This position plays a crucial role in supporting our design team. You will collaborate closely with engineers and designers to translate concepts into products, ensuring accuracy andadherence to project specifications.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Collect, analyze and organize basic engineering data as well as evaluate and interpret field surveys.
  • Designing appropriate access network facilities in a timely fashion to meet customer service dates using standard technologies and establishing project milestones for service delivery.
  • Design engineering drawings and reports to industry standards including CSA & ESA 22 / 04.
  • Analysis of pole lines for required conductor spacing, separation, clearance and physical element strength under ice and wind loading, using CSA standards.
  • Ensuring design drawings and calculation packages are completed by appropriate deadlines.
  • Other duties as required.

Skills / Qualifications :

  • Completion of related post-secondary education such as a Bachelor of Engineering and / or a Diploma in Civil Engineering or Certified Engineer Technologist.
  • Excellent software skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Experience working with Quick Pole and / or SPIDACalc and / or PLS-CADD.
  • Customer Service-focused individuals who take pride in delivering high-quality products.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Knowledge of Telecommunication outside the plant would be considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in the electrical or telecom field designing aerial and underground networks would be an asset.
  • Experience with QGIS is an asset.
  • Experience with AutoCAD is an asset.
