Job summary

Strike Group is seeking an experienced Millwright Supervisor to lead installation, alignment and startup of rotating equipment at the Mount Bracey Compressor Station project in Prince George, BC. You will oversee millwrights, read complex drawings, and coordinate with engineering, construction and commissioning teams.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years with rotating equipment in oil & gas, a Journeyperson Millwright ticket, and proven supervisory experience on large-scale builds.

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Millwright ticket from the appropriate provincial or federal authority.
  • 8+ years of experience with rotating equipment in oil & gas.
  • Proven supervisory experience on large-scale construction or facility builds.
  • Strong working knowledge of compressors, turbines, and related systems.
  • Experience on compressor stations or gas processing facilities preferred.
  • Experience in commissioning and startup preferred.
  • Lube oil flushing experience preferred.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Fluent in English (reading and speaking).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise millwrights and contractors during installation of compressors, pumps, and auxiliary systems.
  • Read and interpret vendor drawings, P&IDs, and Isometrics; mark up drawings and create work packs for SOW.
  • Coordinate and inspect materials for SOW; report deficiencies to client and vendor.
  • Oversee precision alignment, rigging, and assembly of rotating equipment and supporting structures.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, project specs, and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, and commissioning teams.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and support equipment startup activities.
  • Maintain schedules, daily reports, and workforce productivity.

Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experience Millwright Supervisor with strong expertise in rotating equipment to support the construction and commissioning of a natural gas compressor station. The Millwright Supervisor will oversee the installation, alignment, and startup of critical mechanical Baker Hughes systems while coordinating with all disciplines on site.

PROJECT DETAILS
  • Project Name: Mount Bracey Compressor Station
  • Nearest City: Prince George, B.C (Camp Project)
  • Shift: 14 Days on/7 Days off
  • Travel pay: $400/shift
  • Camp retention: $25/day
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Supervise millwrights and contractors during installation of compressors, pumps, and auxiliary systems
  • Read and interpret vendor drawings, P&IDs, and Isometrics while marking up drawings and creating work packs for SOW
  • Coordinate and inspect materials for SOW, reporting any deficiencies or damage to the client and vendor
  • Oversee precision alignment, rigging, and assembly of rotating equipment and supporting auxiliary structures
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, projects specs, and quality requirements
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, and commissioning teams
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and support equipment startup activities
  • Maintain schedules, daily reports, and workforce productivity
Qualifications
Education
  • Must possess a valid Journeyperson Millwright ticket from the appropriate provincial or federal authority
Experience
  • Must have 8+ years of experience with rotating equipment in the oil & gas industry
  • Proven supervisory experience on large-scale construction or facility builds
  • Strong working knowledge of compressors, turbines, and related systems
  • Experience working on compressor stations or gas processing facilities preferred
  • Experience in commissioning and startup preferred
  • Lube oil flushing experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Capable of working as part of a team
  • Fluent in speaking and reading English
  • Must be able to follow directions
