Job summary

Strike Group is seeking an Apprentice Pipefitter to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems at the Cenovus Christina Lake North plant, north of Conklin, AB. The role emphasizes safety and adherence to company values, with hands-on duties on site.

The successful candidate will work a rotating schedule, support journeypersons, and participate in facility hydrotesting and pipe spooling, while complying with H2S Alive/CSTS training requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered 3rd year Apprentice with the appropriate provincial or federal authority.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be comfortable working outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret red-line construction drawings and blueprints (Isometrics, P&ID's, etc.).
• Assist journeyperson pipefitters with the installation of equipment, pipe, and structural steel on site.
• Assemble piping and valves in module and compressor packages.
• Prepare pipe and fittings for tacking, hoisting, and rigging.
• Hydrotest, assemble, and install pipe spools in the fabrication facility.
• Measure, cut, and thread pipe to the required shape.
• Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems.
• Remove and replace worn components and reactivate systems.

POSITION SUMMARY Apprentice Pipefitters possess the full range of knowledge required to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for oil, steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems. • Site is at the Cenovus Christina Lake North plant north of Conklin, AB
• 8/6 rotation
• $300/shift travel allowance
• Camp accommodations provided

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
