Job summary

Strike Group, based in Western Canada with energy and industrial construction services, seeks an Apprentice Pipefitter for on-site and fabrication work at the Cenovus Christina Lake North plant in AB. You will support journeypipefitters, read blueprints, and help assemble piping and valves for modules and packages.

Must be a registered 4th-year apprentice and able to pass pre-employment drug testing; willing to obtain H2S Alive and CSTS tickets.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered 4th year Apprentice with the appropriate provincial or federal authority.
• Must have or be willing to obtain valid H2S Alive and CSTS 2020 or PST tickets – CSTS 09 and CSO/BSO will not be accepted.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret red-line construction drawings and blueprints (Isometrics, P&ID’s, etc.).
• Assist journeyperson pipefitters with the installation of equipment, pipe, and structural steel on site.
• Assemble piping and valves in module and compressor packages.
• Prepare pipe and fittings for tacking, hoisting, and rigging.
• Hydrotest, assemble, and install pipe spools in the fabrication facility.
• Measure, cut, and thread pipe to the required shape.
• Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems.
• Remove and replace worn components and reactivate systems.

POSITION SUMMARY

Apprentice Pipefitters possess the full range of knowledge required to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for oil, steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems. Employees are expected to support and participate in a “culture of safety” and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect, and fairness.

PROJECT DETAILS

• Site is at the Cenovus Christina Lake North plant north of Conklin, AB
• 8/6 rotation
• $300/shift travel allowance
• Camp accommodations provided
