Orlick Industries in Hamilton, Ontario is seeking an Industrial Millwright (Red Seal 433A) to install, maintain and upgrade machinery and supporting structures according to manufacturer specifications.

The successful candidate will read blueprints, perform safe machine installations, dismantling, alignments, PMs and documentation, while collaborating with the team to minimize downtime and keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Red Seal 433A Millwright license is required.
• Deep knowledge of machine set-up and control programming.
• Experience erecting scaffolds and performing simple rigging.
• Commitment to safe operations and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, diagrams and schematics to plan work.
• Safely install machinery, supporting equipment and structures.
• Dismantle machines using hand tools as needed.
• Move equipment using hoists, dollies and trucks.
• Align machines with hoists, jacks and precision tools.
• Rebuild mechanical equipment for operations and other plant machinery.
• Test reassembled equipment and adjust as required.
• Carry out preventative/predictive maintenance and document activities.
• Document monthly PM reports and daily work orders; minimize downtime.

Position Summary

The Industrial Millwright is responsible for safely installing and maintaining machinery and supporting structures according to manufacturer’s specifications.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Read blue prints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Safely install machinery, supporting equipment, and structures on all machinery and equipment.
• Dismantle machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other necessary hand tools.
• Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
• Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, levels, and plumb line.
• Rebuild mechanical equipment required for operations and on all other plant machinery and equipment.
• Test reassembled equipment and make necessary adjustments or repairs as required.
• Carry out the preventative and predictive maintenance program and all necessary documentation.
• Track and document monthly PM reports and daily work orders in a timely fashion; identify equipment breakdown causes and minimize equipment downtime.

Skills & Qualifications

• Red Seal 433A Millwright License
• An in-depth knowledge and understanding of machine set-up and programming controls.
• Must be familiar with and able to perform the erection of scaffolds and simple rigging to erect or dismantle machines.
• Able to use equipment, materials, and machinery only as authorized, and operate equipment in a manner that does not endanger themselves or other workers.
• Communicate and work effectively with team members and other employees of the company.
