Job summary

InterPro Pipe & Steel Inc. is seeking a Millwright (Maintenance) to inspect, repair, install and maintain mechanical equipment in a major producing unit.

The role involves responding to scheduled and emergency repairs, diagnosing equipment defects and minimizing production interruptions. The ideal candidate holds a Red Seal Journeyman Certificate (or Alberta Journeyman) and has experience in industrial manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Journeyman certificate required or Alberta Journeyman certificate.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing is an asset.
• Ability to work rotating shifts (days & nights).
• Must pass pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, replace, install and maintain mechanical equipment.
• Receive and execute scheduled and emergency repair work instructions.
• Inspect equipment for defects and determine best repair approach to minimize downtime.
• Dismantle, repair, assemble and lubricate mechanical systems and components.
• Align gears, bearings and shafts; prepare proper operating characteristics.
• Collaborate with repair crew on emergency breakdowns as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description and Responsibilities

We are looking for a millwright to join our InterPro Pipe and Steel team. They inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust and maintain all mechanical equipment in a major producing unit or assigned area.

• Receive instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repair, installation, and inspection work to be done.
• Inspects mill equipment for defects, such as misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication, etc.
• Determines the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production.
• Advises when immediate shutdown of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when temporarily continued operation will have no harmful effect.
• Dismantles, cleans, repairs, replaces, installs, maintains, assembles and lubricates mechanical equipment.
• adjusts equipment for proper operating characteristics.
• Makes either temporary or permanent repairs.
• Assembles and aligns gears, bearings and shafts, involving the application of press, sliding and running fits.
• works with repair crew as directed on emergency breakdowns.
• other assigned duties as needed.

Requirements

• Must possess a Red Seal Journeyman Certificate or Alberta Journeyman Certificate.
• Previous work experience in an industrial manufacturing setting is an asset.
• Must be able to workrotating shifts (days & nights).
• Must successfully pass the pre-employment screening process.

Compensation

• Union Role base wage: $51.56/hr
