Job summary

InterPro Pipe + Steel is seeking a Millwright to inspect, repair, install and maintain mechanical equipment in a major production area. The role requires a Red Seal Journeyman Certificate or Alberta Journeyman Certificate and the ability to work rotating days and nights.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Red Seal Journeyman Certificate or Alberta Journeyman Certificate.
• Experience in an industrial manufacturing setting is an asset.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts (days & nights).
• Must successfully pass the pre-employment screening process.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust and maintain mechanical equipment in a major producing unit or assigned area.
• Receive instructions covering scheduled and emergency repair, installation, and inspection work to be done.
• Inspect mill equipment for defects (misalignment, wear, lubrication, etc.).
• Determine the best way of making repairs to minimize production interruption.
• Advise when immediate shutdown of equipment is necessary or when operation can continue.
• Dismantle, clean, repair, replace, install, maintain, assemble and lubricate mechanical equipment.
• Assemble and align gears, bearings and shafts; apply press, sliding and running fits.
• Work with repair crew on emergency breakdowns.

Job Description And Responsibilities

We are looking for a millwright to join our InterPro Pipe and Steel team. They inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust and maintain all mechanical equipment in a major producing unit or assigned area.

• Receive instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repair, installation, and inspection work to be done.
• Inspects mill equipment for defects, such as misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication, etc.
• Determines the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production.
• Advises when immediate shutdown of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when temporarily continued operation will have no harmful effect.
• Dismantles, cleans, repairs, replaces, installs, maintains, assembles and lubricates mechanical equipment.
• adjusts equipment for proper operating characteristics.
• Makes either temporary or permanent repairs.
• Assembles and aligns gears, bearings and shafts, involving the application of press, sliding and running fits.
• works with repair crew as directed on emergency breakdowns.
• other assigned duties as needed.

Requirements

• Must possess a Red Seal Journeyman Certificate or Alberta Journeyman Certificate.
• Previous work experience in an industrial manufacturing setting is an asset.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts (days & nights).

Compensation

• Union Role base wage: $51.56/hr
