Job summary

Calhoun Super Structure Ltd. is seeking a motivated Millwright / Maintenance Technician to support reliable operation of welding and fabrication equipment across the facility. You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install equipment and maintain records.

You will work on welding equipment, fabrication machinery, cranes, compressors and production support systems, participate in safety procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement and capital projects.

Qualifications

• Licensed Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) 433A preferred.
• Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technician or related trade certification considered an asset.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years maintenance experience in manufacturing, fabrication, welding or industrial environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on welding and fabrication equipment, cranes, compressors and support systems.
• Diagnose failures, complete repairs and maintain maintenance records.
• Maintain welding equipment, positioners and extraction systems; assist with setup of new equipment.
• Maintain compressed air, ventilation, lighting and building infrastructure.
• Respond to breakdowns, identify root causes and restore equipment quickly and safely.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and safety policies; participate in safety inspections.
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability and support capital projects.
• Maintain work orders, inspections and equipment histories.

POSITION SUMMARY

Calhoun Super Structure Ltd. is seeking a motivated, safety-focused and mechanically inclined Millwright / Maintenance Technician to support the reliable operation of welding and fabrication equipment throughout the facility. The successful candidate will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, equipment installations and facility maintenance while ensuring a safe and productive manufacturing environment.

Equipment Maintenance & Reliability

Perform preventative maintenance on welding equipment, fabrication machinery, cranes, compressors and production support equipment. Conduct inspections, diagnose failures, complete repairs and maintain maintenance schedules and records.

Welding & Fabrication Equipment Support

Maintain welding equipment, welding positioners, manipulators, fume extraction systems, plasma cutting equipment, saws, drills and material handling equipment. Assist with setup and commissioning of new equipment.

Facility Maintenance & Infrastructure

Maintain compressed air systems, ventilation systems, lighting, overhead doors, water systems, building infrastructure and general facility equipment.

Troubleshooting & Breakdown Response

Respond to production breakdowns, identify root causes, replace defective components, perform repairs and restore equipment to service quickly and safely.

Safety & Compliance

Follow lockout/tagout procedures, safe work practices and company safety policies. Participate in safety inspections and maintain compliance with legislation and company standards.

Continuous Improvement & Capital Projects

Identify opportunities to improve reliability, reduce downtime and support equipment upgrades, installations and capital projects.

Reporting & Documentation

Maintain work orders, inspection reports, preventative maintenance records, spare parts information and equipment histories.

QUALIFICATIONS

Licensed Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) 433A preferred. Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technician or related trade certification considered an asset. Minimum 3 to 5 years maintenance experience in manufacturing, fabrication, welding or industrial environments preferred.
