Job summary

Marwood Ltd. is seeking a skilled Red Seal Millwright for our Brookfield, NS location to maintain pumps, gearboxes, motors and conveyors across our forest products operations in North America and Europe.

The ideal candidate will hold a Red Seal Millwright license or equivalent, with experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, welding (MIG/ARC/TIG) and carpentry, plus the ability to lift 60+ lbs and work safely. Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–5:00 pm, with a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics and ability to lift 60+ lbs.
• Proficiency in MIG, ARC and TIG welding and general carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Maintain pumps, gearboxes, motors, conveyors and sawmill equipment.
• Develop and follow preventive maintenance programs and inspections.
• Perform welding, carpentry and fabrication as needed.
• Keep maintenance records, checklists and hazard cards updated.
• Ensure safety compliance through inspections and hazard identification.
• Support planning and site duties, including loader/truck ops and clean-up.

Join Marwood Ltd., an innovative producer of premium forest products serving residential, commercial, and industrial construction industries across North America and Europe. With multiple operations in Atlantic Canada, we're on the lookout for aRed Seal Millwrightto join our team at our Brookfield, Nova Scotia location.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance and repairs on pumps, gearboxes, electric motors, conveyors, sawmill equipment, and other site machinery.
• Develop and carry out preventive maintenance programs, including inspections, lubrication, greasing, oil changes, and repairs.
• Perform welding, carpentry, and other fabrication work as required.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, records, checklists, hazard cards, and other required documentation.
• Ensure equipment is operating safely by conducting inspections, identifying hazards, and maintaining compliance with safety standards.
• Support maintenance planning, operational needs, and other assigned duties, including loader/truck operations, site clean-up, and work at other Marwood sites.
• Fulfill any other required duties.
  

What You Bring to the Table:

The ideal candidate will have a Red Seal Millwright license or equivalent experience. Preferably, candidates should possess familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics, ability to lift and work with 60+ lbs., general carpentry skills, and proficiency in MIG, ARC, and TIG welding. Emphasizing safety and efficiency, this role requires someone with adequate attention to detail and a commitment to getting tasks right the first time. Previous manufacturing experience or exposure to conveyors and sawmill machinery is advantageous.
