Job summary

Marwood Ltd in Tracyville, NB is seeking a skilled Red Seal Welder / Fabricator to join our maintenance team. You will fabricate, alter, and repair structural steel parts, industrial machinery, conveyors, and plant equipment to support our wood-processing workflows.

You will work with engineering and millwright teams to prevent breakdowns, read engineered drawings, and ensure high-quality welds. The role requires multi-process welding, strong safety practices, and the ability to lift up to 50–60

Qualifications

• Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Welder Journeyperson designation is required.
• 3–5 years of industrial welding or fabrication experience (heavy manufacturing, sawmill, or industrial plant preferred).
• Multi-process welding proficiency (MIG/GMAW, TIG/GTAW, Stick/SMAW) and experience with various steel grades and thicknesses.

Responsibilities

• Layout, cut, fit, and weld metal components to build or repair machinery parts, structures, and heavy production equipment using MIG, TIG, and ARC welding processes.
• Read and interpret engineered drawings, blueprints, or specifications to execute precise fabrications.
• Collaborate with maintenance to perform maintenance on various industrial equipment.
• Follow all site safety protocols, use PPE, and keep a clean, organized workspace.
• Check welds and finished products to ensure they meet quality and structural standards, performing testing or modifications as needed.

We are currently seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Red Seal Welder / Fabricator to join our maintenance team in Tracyville, N.B. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, altering, and repairing structural steel parts, industrial machinery, conveyors, and treatment plant equipment to support our high-capacity wood processing workflows. You will work closely with our engineering and millwright teams to prevent breakdowns and keep production moving.

Key Responsibilities

• Layout, cut, fit, and weld various metal components to build or repair machinery parts, structures, and heavy production equipment using MIG, TIG, and ARC welding processes.
• Read and interpret engineered drawings, blueprints, or custom specifications to execute precise fabrications.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to perform maintenance on various industrial equipment.
• Follow all site safety protocols, complete job hazard cards, ensure proper utilization of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and maintain an organized, clean workspace.
• Check welds and finished products to ensure they meet quality and structural standards, executing material testing or modifications where necessary.

Qualifications & Experience

• Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Welder Journeyperson designation is required.
• 3–5 years of industrial welding or fabrication experience (experience in a heavy manufacturing, sawmill, or industrial plant environment is preferred).
• Multi-process welding proficiency (MIG/GMAW, TIG/GTAW, Stick/SMAW) and experience working with various steel grades and thicknesses.
• Competency with manual shop equipment, torches, grinders, and material handling systems.
• Ability to lift up to 50–60 lbs and perform physically demanding work including bending, climbing, and standing for long periods.
• Must have reliable personal transportation, as our rural Tracyville facility is not accessible by public transit.
