Job summary

Next Level Group is supporting a client in Charlottetown, PE, seeking an experienced Millwright to help ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of facility and production equipment. This hands-on role calls for strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and a minimum of 7 years of relevant maintenance or Millwright experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on facility and production equipment.
• Complete preventative maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.
• Work safely in accordance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Coordinate with external contractors and service providers when required.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Complete and close out work orders through the company’s CMMS.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and documentation.
• Support safety inspections, audits, and compliance initiatives.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Work collaboratively with the team and respond to changing maintenance priorities.

Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Millwright to join our client's team in Charlottetown, PE to help ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of facility and production equipment.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone with strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and a minimum of 7 years of relevant maintenance or Millwright experience. We’re also interested in candidates who already hold their Red Seal Millwright certification.

Key Responsibilities

Perform mechanical maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on facility and production equipment.

Complete preventative maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.

Diagnose mechanical issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.

Work safely in accordance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Coordinate with external contractors and service providers when required.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 7 years of relevant maintenance or Millwright experience, OR a Red Seal Millwright certification.

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.

Experience with hand and power tools.

Manufacturing, production, or regulated-environment experience is an asset.

Basic HVAC knowledge, including filters and belts, is an asset.

Strong organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

WHMIS or other relevant safety training is an asset.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Ability to provide a clear criminal record check.

Red Seal Certification

A Red Seal is not currently required if the candidate has the required experience.

Candidates with 7 or more years of relevant experience are eligible to challenge the Red Seal examination, and the successful candidate would be expected to pursue the certification after starting.

Candidates who already hold their Red Seal Millwright certification are also encouraged to apply.

If regulations or company requirements change in the future and Red Seal certification becomes mandatory, the company is committed to supporting an experienced candidate in obtaining it. At that time, certification may become a requirement of the role, depending on applicable regulations and company needs.
