Qualified candidates hold Alberta Journeyperson in Industrial Mechanic (Millwright), have experience with large facilities, and are comfortable reading drawings and using precision

Qualifications

  • Certified Journeyperson in Industrial Mechanic (Millwright).
  • Experience with complex mechanical systems in large facilities.
  • Ability to read drawings/blueprints and equipment manuals.
  • Strong safety focus and OH&S adherence.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, repair, installation, troubleshooting and reconditioning of stationary mechanical equipment.
  • Erect and level frameworks, foundations and anchors; align frames, couplings and drive systems.
  • Use precision tools to diagnose equipment parameters and maintain work order documentation.
  • Collaborate with team, attend safety and training sessions, and advise on equipment-related issues.

Job Number: 56180We're looking for a skilled and dedicated Millwright I to join our team in keeping our City facilities running smoothly! As a vital part of our Facilities Maintenance Services, you'll play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our buildings by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various mechanical equipment. If you're a certified Journeyperson in the Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) trade with a knack for problem-solving and a commitment to safety, we encourage you to apply!The Millwright I is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of stationary mechanical equipment in City-owned and leased facilities. This includes a wide range of systems such as fans, pumps, compressors, gears, chains, conveyors, heat exchangers, and hydraulics. The Millwright I will also be involved in the construction and leveling of frameworks, foundations, and anchors, using rigging and hoisting techniques as needed. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to working safely and efficiently.What will you do?Perform preventive maintenance, repair, new installations, troubleshooting, and reconditioning of stationary mechanical equipmentErect, construct, and level frameworks, foundations, and anchorsAlign frames, couplings, bearings, shafts, drive systems, and sheavesUse precision tools to examine, measure, and diagnose equipment parametersMaintain an inventory of tools and materials.
