Job summary

FDI Services Inc. currently seeks a Night Shift JM Millwright for our City of Edmonton Waste Management Centre Facility in Edmonton, AB.

The successful candidate will safely perform Millwright duties in a facilities maintenance setting and work a 12-hour night shift. Responsibilities include reading diagrams, operating rigging equipment, fitting bearings, aligning gears and shafts, testing equipment, and performing preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• Committed to working in a safe and efficient manner.
• Excellent problem-solving skills required.
• Good analytical ability and manual dexterity.
• Must have a valid Alberta driver's license and provide a 5-year driver’s abstract.
• Must be able to perform physically demanding work for long durations and at heights.
• Must complete all pre-access training prior to mobilization.
• Millwright JM certificate from a recognized provincial training authority.

Responsibilities

• Comprehends diagrams schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures.
• Operates rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and parts.
• Understands how to fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances.
• Align and test equipment to make any necessary adjustments.
• Performs preventative and operational maintenance using procedures such as vibration analysis, and repair or replace defective parts as necessary.
• Periodically perform tack welding and fabrication as well as maintain an inventory of replacement parts.
• May perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Information

• Located at the City of Edmonton Waste Management Facility
• 12 hours of work shift (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
• 4/4 Rotation Schedule - Weekend shift rotations apply
• JM Rate $45.16/Hour / +$3.00/Hour for night shift premium = $48.16/hour
• Dual Certification Premium (if applicable)
