West Fraser's Slave Lake Veneer Division is seeking a Certified Millwright to maintain pumps, conveyors, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical equipment on-site. You will read blueprints and perform preventative maintenance to keep production running smoothly.

This full-time role requires a Journeyperson Millwright certification, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety. The position supports relocation as needed and involves working various shifts.

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Millwright certification is required.
  • Ability to read blueprints, plans and schematics.
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers & chains, bearings and hydraulics involved in the manufacturing process.
  • Undertake preventative maintenance program for equipment.
  • Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to repair equipment.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during assembly, installation, set-up and repair.
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment and repair as required.
  • Repair and assemble hydraulic equipment and cylinders.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements and savings.
  • Verify and document repairs made.
  • Work across various shift patterns.

You’ll Do
  • Maintenance of pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers & chains, bearings and hydraulics involved in the manufacturing process
  • Undertake preventative maintenance program for equipment
  • Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to repair equipment
