Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is partnering with a cannabis-focused client in Canada to hire a Financial Analyst/Junior Financial Analyst in Alberta. The role supports month-end close, AR/AP reviews, tax filings, and audits within a growth-oriented accounting team.

You will engage in plant cost accounting, variance analysis, and cross-functional communication, contributing to a dynamic startup environment and internal career progression.

About the Opportunity

• Assist with the month-end close process through the preparation and analysis of monthly journal entries, and balance sheet account schedules.

• Assist with regulatory compliance requirements such as Statistics Canada surveys and monthly GST return filings.

• Internal and External Stakeholder Communications:
• Support internal team members with day-to-day transactional needs.
• Perform other duties as requested by your manager.

About You

• At least 1-3 years of experience in accounting or related areas
• Completion of a diploma in accounting or a combination of accounting related work experience and a diploma in a different specialty.
• Knowledge of full cycle accounting, reconciliations, and variance analysis.

Salary Range

$70,000 - $85,000/year
