Vaco by Highspring in Canada is seeking a Financial Analyst/Junior Financial Analyst to join their accounting team. You will assist with month-end close, analyze balance sheet accounts, and support regulatory reporting in a fast-growing cannabis company.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years accounting experience, a diploma in accounting, and proficiency in full cycle accounting. The role offers mentorship from CPA professionals and opportunities for internal promotion.

About the Opportunity

• Assist with the month-end close process through the preparation and analysis of monthly journal entries, and balance sheet account schedules.
• Perform AR/AP listing reviews and investigate deviations from expectations.
• Assist with regulatory compliance requirements such as Statistics Canada surveys and monthly GST return filings.
• Assist with quarter-end review and year-end audit requests.
• Assist with plant cost accounting transactions.
• Support with ad hoc requests and analyses, as required.
• Internal and External Stakeholder Communications:
• Support internal team members with day-to-day transactional needs.
• Perform other duties as requested by your manager.

About You

• At least 1-3 years of experience in accounting or related areas
• Completion of a diploma in accounting or a combination of accounting related work experience and a diploma in a different specialty.
• Knowledge of full cycle accounting, reconciliations, and variance analysis.

Salary Range

$70,000 - $85,000/year

This position for employment is for a current vacancy with Vaco/Highspring’s client. You must currently reside within the Greater Calgary Area and be permitted to work in Canada to be considered for this opportunity.
