  • Knowledge of workplace safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on industrial machinery and production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and diagnose faults.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and complete repairs.
  • Weld and fabricate parts as needed.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and routine servicing.
  • Replace worn components and ensure safe operation.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment safely.
  • Coordinate with production to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain clean, organized work area and comply with safety policies.

Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Millwright Apprentice / Industrial Maintenance Technician to provide temporary maintenance coverage within a busy manufacturing environment in St. Catharines. The successful candidate will have strong hands‑on experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical troubleshooting, welding, and preventative maintenance. Millwright apprenticeship experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong practical maintenance, welding, and troubleshooting experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on industrial machinery and production equipment
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and equipment‑related issues
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and complete repairs as required
  • Perform welding and fabrication for equipment repairs and modifications
  • Complete preventative and routine maintenance
  • Repair or replace worn or damaged mechanical components
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and forklifts safely
  • Work with production staff to address maintenance concerns and minimize downtime
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Follow company health and safety policies and applicable workplace safety requirements
Qualifications
  • Previous industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
  • Millwright apprenticeship experience is preferred but not required
  • Strong welding skills and experience performing welding repairs
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
  • Experience with preventative maintenance and industrial equipment repair
  • Forklift experience
  • General understanding of applicable workplace health and safety laws and requirements
  • Ability to diagnose problems and determine practical repair solutions
  • Able to work independently and prioritize maintenance needs
  • Reliable and safety‑conscious
Assignment Details

This is a temporary full‑time position providing coverage for an employee who is currently away from work for an undetermined period. There is currently no confirmed end date.

Wage: $25.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
