itec group Inc. in Ottawa invites applications for a Millwright to join our established manufacturing team.

The role covers maintenance, troubleshooting, machining, fabrication and project support on diverse industrial machinery in a collaborative, technically focused environment. The successful candidate will work straight days (7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, 37.5 hours/week) or similar schedule, with salary in the 85k–95k CAD range and overtime beyond 37.5 hours.

Qualifications

• Valid Industrial Mechanic Millwright licence (433A).
• Hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, machining or mechanical fabrication.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience reading mechanical drawings, schematics and documentation.
• Ability to fabricate, modify, assemble and repair components.
• Willingness to learn new equipment and processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on industrial machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues including pneumatic systems and drives.
• Machining, fabrication and modification of parts and assemblies.
• Operate mills and lathes as required for fabrication tasks.
• Support equipment installations, upgrades and commissioning.
• Assist with assembly and mechanical improvements of equipment.
• Read and interpret drawings, schematics and documentation.
• Collaborate with maintenance, production and engineering teams on projects.
• Maintain maintenance records and work orders with accuracy.
• Follow safety procedures including lockout/tagout and safe machining.

Job description

We're excited to share an opportunity for a Millwright to join a well-established manufacturing organization in the Ottawa area, offering a consistent straight-day shift, specialized equipment and opportunities for technical growth! This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically skilled tradesperson who enjoys variety beyond traditional preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs. The successful candidate will work with a diverse range of industrial machinery, supporting mechanical troubleshooting, machining, fabrication, equipment modifications and new projects in a collaborative, technically focused environment.

Shift: Straight Days – Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM (37.5-hour workweek)

Salary: $85-95K, OT>37.5 hours

Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Perform preventative maintenance, mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on industrial machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues involving pneumatic systems, mechanical drives, pulleys, cables and related components.
• Perform machining, fabrication and modification of mechanical parts and assemblies.
• Operate manual machining equipment, including mills and lathes, as required.
• Support equipment installations, modifications, upgrades and commissioning activities.
• Assist with custom equipment assembly, repairs and mechanical improvements.
• Interpret mechanical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, performance and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with maintenance, production and engineering teams on equipment-related projects.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders and equipment documentation.
• Follow established safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and safe machining practices.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Valid Industrial Mechanic Millwright licence (433A).
• Previous hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, machining or mechanical fabrication.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Practical experience with mechanical assemblies, pneumatic systems and industrial machinery.
• Experience operating manual machining equipment, including mills and lathes, would be considered a strong asset.
• Ability to fabricate, modify, assemble and repair mechanical components.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics and equipment documentation.
• Strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and safe equipment operation.
• Comfortable working independently and collaborating with technical teams.
• Willingness to learn new equipment, technologies and manufacturing processes.
