Job summary

AFIMAC Canada is seeking a Licensed Millwright for a full-time role in a food manufacturing environment. You will install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot industrial machinery across processing and packaging lines, ensuring production runs smoothly and safely. Strong blueprint reading, preventive maintenance, and CMMS skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience reading blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to determine work procedures.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and safety practices.
• CMMS experience is preferred for job traceability and tasks.
• Lockout/tagout procedures knowledge is an asset.
• Experience working with robotics (Schubert) is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Modify, repair, install, maintain, and troubleshoot machinery and equipment in processing/packaging areas.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to guide maintenance tasks.
• Provide recommendations for continual improvements and efficiencies.
• Setup and relocate bakery and packaging equipment.
• Document shift activities and assist production in equipment setup.
• Maintain and organize the shop and tools.

Job description

As a Licensed Millwright in a food manufacturing setting, you'll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial machinery and equipment, ensuring smooth production and adherence to food safety standards.

Hourly Pay: CA$38.75

Full-time

Locations: Mississauga, Brampton, North York, and Vaughan.

Responsibilities

• Modify, repair, install, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot different machinery, equipment, and facilities that fall under processing and packaging.
• Have proven skills in the principles of mechanics, such as fitting, welding, metal fabrication, machining, troubleshooting, and analytical problem solving that will aid in diagnosing problems and providing quick and innovative solutions.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings in determining work procedures.
• Provide recommendations for continual improvements and efficiencies.
• Setup, disassemble, relocation, and assemble Bakery and Packaging equipment.
• Fill out shift report electronically for specific issues or tasks, as well as assist production in setting up the equipment.
• Maintaining and organizing shop, as well as the toolbox.

Requirements

• Experience with drill press, grinder, saws, and all other machine shop tools
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance program
• Knowledge of using any CMMS is preferred
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and Lockout Procedures is an asset
• Knowledge of working with Robots (Schubert) is an asset

Preferred Qualifications

• Millwright License or equivalent experience
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 5-7 years working experience with mechanical, electrical; including preventative maintenance, adjustments, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment (food industry is highly preferred)
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Can complete all other duties as instructed and assigned by the Maintenance Manager
