Job summary

itec group Inc. is seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanic Millwright to join our client’s highly automated Mississauga facility on the Afternoon shift. You will support automated production equipment uptime through breakdown response, preventative maintenance, and targeted repairs.

The role requires a 433A certification, 5+ years in automated manufacturing, and strong hydraulic/pneumatic troubleshooting. Prior experience with stamping/molding machinery or conveyors is a plus.

Qualifications

• Valid 433A Industrial Mechanic Millwright Certificate of Qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience in automated environments.
• Strong breakdown troubleshooting experience with automated production machinery.
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
• Willingness to work Straight Afternoon shift.
• Experience with conveyors and stamping/molding machinery is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair automated molding presses, conveyors, packaging machinery, and related production equipment.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures and complete repairs.
• Replace bearings, motors, gearboxes, pumps, cylinders, valves, and other components.
• Support equipment modifications and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify recurring issues and assist with root-cause analysis.
• Perform basic electrical troubleshooting as required; electrical experience is a plus.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to support reliability.

Our client is an established packaging manufacturer with a newer, highly automated facility in the Mississauga area. The operation continues to grow and invest in its Canadian manufacturing capabilities, with modern production equipment and an organized, well-maintained plant environment.

The facility utilizes automated molding presses, conveyors, packaging equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, creating a strong fit for a Millwright coming from automotive, packaging, plastics, or another highly automated manufacturing environment. This is an opportunity to join a growing maintenance operation where strong troubleshooting skills and hands-on breakdown experience are valued.

Job Description

We're excited to share an opportunity for an existing vacancy as a 433A Industrial Mechanic Millwright on the Afternoon shift.

The Millwright will be responsible for supporting the reliability of automated production equipment through breakdown response, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment improvements.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair automated molding presses, conveyors, packaging machinery, and related production equipment.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures and complete repairs as required.
• Replace bearings, motors, gearboxes, pumps, cylinders, valves, and other mechanical components.
• Support equipment modifications, upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify recurring equipment issues and assist with root-cause troubleshooting.
• Perform basic electrical troubleshooting as required; additional electrical experience is considered an asset.
• Work closely with production and maintenance team members to support equipment reliability and plant requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid 433A Industrial Mechanic Millwright Certificate of Qualification issued through Skilled Trades Ontario.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience within an automated manufacturing environment.
• Strong breakdown troubleshooting experience with automated production machinery.
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose equipment failures and complete repairs independently.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and schematics.
• Available to work a straight Afternoon shift.

Preferred Experience:

• Previous maintenance experience within automotive or packaging manufacturing is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting stamping presses, molding presses, or injection molding machinery.
• Experience with conveyors, automated material handling systems, and high-volume production equipment.
• Exposure to PLC-controlled equipment and basic electrical troubleshooting is considered an asset.
