Job summary

Tolko Industries Ltd. Meadow Lake OSB mill in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan is seeking a Mill Stores Purchaser to join our inventory and procurement team. You will manage purchasing activities for Alberta and Saskatchewan while supporting maintenance and operations.

The ideal candidate has CPIM or equivalent certification, 3–5+ years of inventory purchasing experience, strong negotiation and organizational skills, and a willingness to learn forklift operations.

Qualifications

  • Certificate in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) or equivalent.
  • 3–5+ years in purchasing and maintaining large inventories.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and forest industry equipment.
  • Excellent negotiation and cost-control skills.
  • Experience collaborating across maintenance, operations and planning teams.
  • Forklift experience or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inventory and non-inventory buying activities on site.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and support operating supplies.
  • Work within budgets and ensure cost-effective materials.
  • Negotiate fair pricing and maintain supplier relations.
  • Perform 100% cycle counting and reconcile overstock.
  • Collaborate with planning and maintenance to optimize inventory.
  • Ensure approvals and audit-ready records.
  • Support multiple sites within Meadow Lake region.
  • Operate safely in line with policies.

We are looking for a Mill StoresPurchaserto join ourMeadow Lake OSBmill, located in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. Meadow Lake employs 155 employees and safely and sustainably produces700 million square feet of OSB every year for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities. This role will support both Alberta and Saskatchewan for purchasing activities.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Certificate in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM), Supply Chain Procurement CertificateorWarehouse Certificatethrough the Supply Chain Management Association (ASCM), or equivalent.
  • Experiencepurchasing and maintaining inventory in support of maintenance and operationsteams.
  • 3-5+years' experience maintaining large inventory needsfocusing on inventory optimization and accurate cycle counting.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing operations, the application and maintenance of forest industry equipment, certification for transportation of dangerous materials.
  • General understanding ofaccounting and strong negotiating skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, with a keen eye for the small details.
  • Proven experience in being a valued member of an inventory and purchasing environment.
  • Experience working in amanufacturing environmentand ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
  • Experience driving a forklift, or a willingness to learn.

In this role you will:

  • Conduct inventory and non-inventory buying activities, including encompassing thereceiving, warehousing, issuing and analysis of inventory and non-stores related materials required in the operation.
  • Contribute to the management of the division’s materials andoperating supplies inventory leveland accuracy.
  • Work within budgets, meet deadlines and ensure that materials and supplies are both cost effective and available when needed.
  • Negotiate fair and equitable pricing and byencouraging good relations with suppliers, contractors, and sales representatives.
  • Conduct the 100% cycle counting programfor the division and proactively identifying and reconciling overstock.
  • Responsible forcollaborating with planning and maintenanceto optimize inventory usage and remove dead stock.
  • Ensure appropriate internal approvals are obtained from end users for purchases and records are kept for audit purposes.
  • Partner with departments across the millto deliver excellent customer service.
  • Supporting multiple sites.
  • Operate in a safe mannerin accordance to work safe rules, regulations, and policies.
