MEP Field & Design Coordinator

Job summary

Mobilinx is seeking an experienced MEP Coordinator to support the technical delivery of mechanical, electrical, traffic and plumbing within the project team. You will own packages, coordinate designers, construction teams, subcontractors and suppliers to deliver constructible solutions.

Regular site engagement and proactive escalation with recommendations are essential to maintaining progress, quality and schedule while collaborating across disciplines to resolve field issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Building Services or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years on major infrastructure, transit, industrial or complex building projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems with core HVAC, plumbing and fire protection expertise.
• Experience coordinating design, construction and procurement activities.
• Familiarity with RFI, NCR, SI, CRR and IFC review processes; quantity take-offs and schedule integration.
• Knowledge of Ontario codes; transit/rail experience is an asset.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, Bluebeam; Procore or Aconex knowledge is required.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned MEP packages and coordinate design progression, construction support and closeout.
• Maintain site presence, conduct field walks, identify issues and coordinate resolutions.
• Coordinate with Designers and Engineers of Record to resolve clarifications and conflicts.
• Review IFCs, drawings and specs for constructability and sequencing.
• Coordinate interfaces across mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, architectural and rail teams.
• Articulate RFIs with technical background, photos and proposed solutions; track closures.
• Support quality and NCR investigations with designer input and approvals.
• Communicate design revisions and site instructions; assess schedule and cost impacts.
• Perform quantity take-offs and support procurement and tender evaluations.
• Assist planning, sequencing and testing/commissioning dependencies.
• Maintain document control registers and ensure latest drawings are uploaded.
• Support testing, commissioning and turnover packages; close out technical deficiencies.
