Base pay range

CA$77,036.00 / yr - CA$105,926.00 / yr

  • Temporary, Full-Time - Maternity Leave Coverage (14 months)

JOB SUMMARY : The Mental Wellness Manager (MWM) works within an integrated, multi-disciplinary health team to provide leadership, administration, and support to the mental wellness team. Reporting to the Health Director, the MWM provides guidance to staff offering counselling and support to individuals and families facing mental health and addiction challenges, with an emphasis on culturally competent, trauma-informed care for the Tsleil-Waututh community.

The MWM will oversee budget management, program development, and community engagement efforts. Responsibilities include strategic planning, crisis response implementation, policy development, and fostering a client-centered, decolonizing approach to mental wellness.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Supervise and support the mental wellness team, including peer support programs.
  • Coordinate with clinical leads to oversee clinical staff and program initiatives.
  • Manage administrative functions, including meetings, communication, and community outreach.
  • Oversee budgeting, financial tracking, and reporting.
  • Develop and implement crisis response strategies and peer programs.
  • Maintain policies, confidentiality, and digital record systems.
  • Support staff orientation, equipment, and resource needs.
  • Supervise practicum students and ensure compliance with academic requirements.
  • Build partnerships and advocate for mental health services within and outside the community.
  • Seek external funding opportunities and manage grant reporting.

Qualifications :

  • Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, Social Work, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of experience in mental health / addictions and team management.
  • Knowledge of harm reduction, trauma-informed practice, and client-centered care.
  • Understanding of Indigenous community resources and service networks.
  • Experience with administrative supervision and basic computer skills.
