Your Opportunity

Reporting to the area manager and the clinical supervisor, this position entails providing assessments, treatment planning, case management, and treatment by way of mental health therapy to clients of all ages. As a generalist Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to perform the restricted activity of psychosocial intervention utilizing a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed treatment, crisis intervention, consultation, and case management. The position works with children and adults, community agencies, other members of the mental health and addictions team as well as the multidisciplinary team at large. The Mental Health Therapist will also be involved in case conferences, staff meetings, professional development activities, liaison with community partners, provide support with students and new staff orientation and other related duties as required. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Required Qualifications

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, or Nursing with considerable experience in mental health assessment and intervention. Social Workers must have a practice permit with “Authorization to perform restricted psychosocial intervention”. Formal training in a therapeutic modality of intervention may include, but is not limited to Solution focused Therapy, CBT, Narrative, Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

3–5 years’ experience providing frontline Addiction and Mental Health services in a variety of healthcare settings. Knowledge of Connect Care would be beneficial.
