Job summary

Safety Codes Council in Alberta seeks a dedicated Member Services Coordinator to build strong relationships with sub-council members and coordinate onboarding, appointments, participation, and transitions.   • Experience as a Legal Assistant would be an asset.

The Safety Codes Council (the Council) is a leader in Alberta’s structural and technical safety system. We’re looking for a Member Services Coordinator who enjoys building strong relationships, coordinating meaningful work and creating positive experiences for people. This role is part of the Policy and Engagement team and ensures sub-council members have the information, resources, and support they need to contribute effectively.

What you’ll do
Build meaningful relationships with members

Be the go-to support for sub-council members, helping them stay informed, connected, and successful in their roles.

Create a seamless member experience

Coordinate onboarding, appointments, participation, recognition, and transitions, ensuring every interaction is positive, organized, and well supported.

Keep governance running smoothly

Coordinate records, meetings, documentation, and key processes that help sub-councils operate effectively and make informed decisions.

Coordinate engagement and appeals activities

Support hearings, meetings, and engagement initiatives by managing schedules, communications, logistics, and follow-up activities.

Make services better

Look for opportunities to simplify processes, improve tools and communications, and enhance the experience for members and partners.

What you bring
Education
  • Diploma or equivalent experience in administration, governance support, external relations, or member/volunteer/customer experience.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Experience
  • Experience coordinating multi-step administrative or service processes.
  • Experience supporting members (volunteers), partners, or customers.
  • Experience maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Experience in governance, boards, committees, or similar environments is preferred.
  • Experience with portals, databases, or records systems.
  • Experience working as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role would be an asset.

  • Strong coordination and organizational skills across multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain complete, accurate, organized, and confidential information.
  • Strong communication skills, including listening and clear and plain-language writing.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to identify process gaps and recommend improvements.
  • Digital proficiency with Microsoft 365, CRM systems, and collaboration workspaces.
  • Ability to learn new systems and use digital and AI-supported tools to support drafting, summarizing, organizing, reporting, and workflow efficiency.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and elevate appropriately.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with customers.
